High Integrity FOAMBAG™
A recent joint project with the nuclear industry has resulted in the development of the Steve Vick International High Integrity FOAMBAG™. It was developed to meet specific customer requirements and is now available to meet the most demanding of end user applications.
Installation involves strategically positioning the fabric bag and filling it with high performance resin foam. A chemical bond is formed between the pipe wall and the High Integrity FOAMBAG™ fabric shell.
This bond improves its mechanical performance, thus allowing it to withstand higher pressures, vibration and shock loadings.
The National Nuclear Laboratory has carried out tests on the cured foam used in Steve Vick International’s FOAMBAG™ and associated systems and have rated it as having an 8-10 year lifespan in an area with a background radiation level of 7–9Sv.
