Dan and Lou Gover Receive Prestigious Invitation to The Who Cares Wins Awards

October 14, 2021

Dan Gover from the Steve Vick International Production team was fortunate enough to accompany his wife Lou to the Who Cares Wins Awards in London, following her nomination for the Unsung Hero Award.

Lou Gover is the Manager for Alzheimer’s Support in Warminster, a charity offering day clubs, home support and activity groups for those living with Alzheimer’s.  When the first lockdown hit, Lou quickly realised that more needed to be done for the families affected by this dreadful disease during the Covid Pandemic and so she set about delivering medicines to those who were isolating, as well as cooking and delivering meals every weekend for those who weren’t able to leave their homes.  In addition to this, Lou volunteered to work for free for two days a week in a local care home and raised money in local supermarkets by wearing some rather unusual costumes, including, a sumo wrestler, a gorilla, a Leprechaun and a bottle of beer.

In total Lou managed to raise a staggering £2,500, which lead to one of her friends nominating her for the Unsung Hero Award.  Lou made it down to the final three in the country, hence her invitation to the award night.

At the event, Dan and Lou socialized with a range of A list celebrities including, David Beckham, Rod Stewart, Boris Johnson, Chris Evans, Davina McCall and Kate Garraway.  Many of the celebrities wanted to show their support to the charities and individuals nominated for an award and gave personal messages on the night.  Lou received several messages rooting for her and Alzheimer’s Support and Dan even managed to get a personalised message to Steve Vick International from Gary Linekar, wishing the company a happy 40th Anniversary.

This isn’t the first time Lou and Dan have raised funds for Alzheimer’s Support.  Back in 2019 they both took part in a skydive which Steve Vick International were delighted to contribute to through the companies Charitable Giving Scheme.
