We’re delighted to be exhibiting at the @northerngasnetworks Standdown event in sunny Harrogate over the next three days.

We’re pleased to be introducing some of our latest innovations, including Renset®, a high-performance, battery-powered energy solution designed to support organisations working towards Net Zero targets in line with the UK Government’s 2050 objectives.

Built to meet the demands of the utilities and construction sectors, Renset® delivers a rated output of 5,000W and a peak output of 10,000W at both 110VAC and 230VAC (50/60Hz). It provides reliable, continuous power in both remote and urban environments without relying on fossil fuels. Its modular LiFePO4 battery system allows batteries to be swapped on site, helping to reduce downtime, eliminate the need for diesel or petrol refuelling, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Lightweight, compact and robust, Renset® offers a practical and scalable route to cleaner energy without compromising performance. As the sole distributor for the UK and Ireland, SVI is proud to partner with Renset® in supporting businesses as they transition towards a more sustainable future.

On the Steve Vick stand, we are also showcasing our 180 Pipe Coil Trailer alongside CoilControl for safer and more efficient PE pipeline installations. The 180 Pipe Coil Trailer, with enhanced guarding, provides safe transport, storage and dispensing of coiled PE pipe from 40mm to 180mm. CoilControl is a new device designed to make coiled pipe handling safer and more efficient. Compatible with any pipe coil trailer, it can be set up in under five minutes and handles a full range of HD and MD coiled PE pipe from 63mm to 180mm.

We were delighted to welcome members of the Cadent

We were delighted to welcome members of the Cadent Developing Engineering Forum to our Head Office in Bradford on Avon this week for a demonstration day.

The visit began with a presentation covering our products and the techniques we have developed for the gas industry, followed by live demonstrations of our Live Mains Insertion Technique, Live Service Insertion Technique, Live Service Transfer, Mini Cutter, Burstpack, Fullseal, FBOS, ESEAL, SMARTester and our latest innovation, Renset.

Following the demonstrations, guests enjoyed a tour of our facilities and a delicious lunch.

A huge thank you to everyone from @cadentgasltd who attended. We greatly appreciated the level of interaction, engagement and collaboration throughout the day, and it was a pleasure to share our work and exchange ideas with the group.

Last week we were delighted to attend the @investorsinpeople South of England Celebration Event at Events @ No6 in Aldgate, London.

We are incredibly proud that Steve Vick International has once again retained its We Invest in People Silver accreditation, a fantastic achievement that reflects the dedication of our whole team. Only 22% of organisations reach silver level and we were also thrilled that the assessment picked up emerging signs of gold level behaviours across the business, something we'll be building on ahead of our next review.

Representing Steve Vick on the day, Louise Clayton, Director of HR, and Chloe Carter, HR Officer, attended to collect the award. The event was a brilliant opportunity to celebrate the accreditation, network and share best practice with other accredited businesses, and learn from the day's sessions, including a keynote on the theme of Trust and an official photograph presentation with the Investors in People CEO.

We’re pleased to share that @severntrent, one of the largest of the eleven regulated water and wastewater companies in England and Wales, has recently taken delivery of 46 Long Reach Band Cutters to support safe handling and dispensing of coiled PE from trailers.

At @severntrent, preparing teams with the right skills and equipment to carry out their work safely is a clear priority. Providing tools such as our Long Reach Band Cutter helps create a safer working environment for operators on site.

Designed with operator safety as a top priority, the Long Reach Band Cutter is a handheld tool developed specifically for cutting steel restraining straps on pipe coils carried on Steve Vick International trailers. By enabling operators to cut from a minimum distance of 3 metres, the tool allows the task to be carried out remotely, keeping the operator safely outside the trailer’s footprint and away from potential hazards.

The Long Reach Band Cutter is available as an optional accessory to pipe coil trailers and can be hired or purchased to suit operational requirements.

It’s great to see Severn Trent continuing to prioritise the safety of their operators on site.

This week, we were delighted to host a SMARTester

This week, we were delighted to host a SMARTester Open Day at the home of SMARTester in Bradford on Avon.

The event provided delegates with the opportunity to meet the team, learn more about SMARTester and TestSense, and take part in a series of presentations and live demonstrations.

A key focus of the day was the introduction of UP1b Edition 4 procedures and the impact these changes have on tightness testing. We also showcased TestSense, our recently launched free tool within the SMARTester app. Developed in collaboration with EDF, E.ON and Octopus Energy, TestSense is the first feature released in response to the new UP1b Edition 4 procedures. It enables meter operatives to quickly and accurately calculate the volume of pipework and fittings, to determine the permissible drop with confidence.

Throughout the day, delegates took part in breakout discussions, sharing insights and experiences around the implementation of the new UP1b procedures and the challenges and opportunities they present. The excitement continued with our SMARTester Box Building Challenge, where guests raced to build the perfect box for a chance to take home a bottle of wine. Well done to Colin Archer from MPAAS for building a SMARTester box in just 11.5 seconds!

The event concluded with lunch, providing further opportunities for networking and valuable conversations with our team and industry colleagues.

This year’s annual clay shoot took us to a fantast

This year’s annual clay shoot took us to a fantastic new venue at Black Powder Distillery, Weeton, where we enjoyed a brilliant day hosted by @drivenclaycompanylancashire.

After breakfast, teams headed out into the Lancashire countryside for expert-led shooting across four stands, with plenty of refreshments and homemade elevenses to keep everyone going. The competition soon got underway, with flash bang clays adding an extra challenge and double points up for grabs.

A huge thank you to our guests from JN Civils , R&R Utilities, Skewb, PGL Pipelines, NL Utilities, Cadent Gas, Network Plus and JN Bentley for joining us and helping to make the day such a success with your enthusiasm and friendly competition.

We finished the day with a relaxed lunch and a drink at Black Powder Distillery, Weeton – the perfect way to round off a fantastic event at a great new location.

With the continued growth of the business and our expansion into the water, nuclear and future energy sectors, we’re delighted to announce the appointment of three new Managers within SVI.

First, our Customer Service team has welcomed a new manager, Lisa Rollins. Lisa brings several years of customer service management experience and joins us from her most recent role as Operations Manager for a bespoke furniture manufacturer.

We’re pleased to welcome Adam Holland as our new Plant and Hire Manager. Adam previously worked as Contracts Manager for a leading UK infrastructure services company, where he was responsible for managing resources, including direct labour and subcontractors. He brings extensive experience in financial management, planning, contract controls and Health & Safety leadership, with a strong focus on maintaining safe working practices and high standards.

Joining the team as Project Manager is Annalise Beddard. Annalise has five years of experience across the Civil and Defence Nuclear sectors and holds a degree in Project Management. In her previous role with an aerospace company, she led a large-scale research and development programme, overseeing the journey from development and qualification through to production readiness and volume manufacture.

All three Managers are based at our Head Office in Bradford on Avon.

We’re delighted to welcome Lisa, Adam and Annalise to SVI. Their combined experience and expertise will play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business across our key sectors, and we look forward to the valuable contribution each of them will make.
