Getting started with your SMARTester
Everything you need to set up and use your wireless pressure sensor.

Fitting a hose to the device
1Align the hose fitting squarely with the hose connector at the top of the device.
2Thread the fitting onto the connector, keeping it straight to avoid cross-threading.
3Continue until the hose is seated and secure.
CautionThe hose connector should only be tightened by hand. Do not over-tighten.

Turning the device on & off
- On: hold the power button until the LED status indicator begins blinking.
- Off: hold the power button until the LED blinks rapidly, then release. You can also power off from within the app.
Understanding the LED status indicator
OffThe device is powered off.
Long blinkWaiting for a connection.
Short blinkThe device is connected.
Rapid blinkThe device is shutting down.

Before you start
The SMARTester senses pressure and transmits it to your smartphone over Bluetooth™. Check the following before use:
- You have a smartphone or tablet with Bluetooth 4.2 or higher.
- You have installed the latest version of the SMARTester app.

Installing & replacing batteries
Batteries: 2 × LR6 AA 1.5V (alkaline)
- Unscrew the battery compartment fasteners and lift off the cover.
- Insert both cells observing the +/− polarity shown inside the compartment.
- Refit the cover — do not use the device with the cover removed.

- Do not ingest the batteries.
- Do not use the device in a hot environment or near fire.
Correct use & maintenance
- Operate only within −20°C to +40°C. Do not obstruct the rear atmospheric vent.
- Tighten the hose connector by hand only; consult the manufacturer before changing it.
- Keep away from pressurised water. Do not clean with alcohol or strong fluids.
- Do not disassemble or service the device (beyond replacing batteries) unless instructed by the manufacturer or a notified body.
