Steve Vick International Supports Dorothy House Hospice Care with Always Here Appeal

November 8, 2022

On Sunday 06 November, Dorothy House Hospice Care launched their ‘Always Here Appeal’ and Steve Vick International (SVI) were proud to be a part of it. The Appeal involved a 36-hour fundraising sprint to help secure a total of £500k so that Dorothy House Hospice Care can provide more much needed palliative end of life care in our community.

For the first time, Dorothy House Hospice Care used the on-line crowdfunding platform, Charity Extra, to deliver their most ambitious fundraiser ever supported through a team of ‘Champions’.

SVI had 15 team members signed up as “Champions” and each one reached out to their friends, family, and contacts during the fundraising sprint asking if they would support the appeal with a donation. The SVI “Champions” raised a total of £8,774 to help ensure Dorothy House can continue to care for the rising number of local patients.

Thanks to a generous group of donors, Dorothy House Hospice Care secured pledges that has meant all donations made to the appeal have been doubled. SVI have matched all their team members donations by up to £250 and made an additional donation of £10,000 to the appeal.

On Monday, Crock Harrison, Managing Director at SVI presented a cheque to Dan Varley, Community and Events Fundraiser for Dorothy House Hospice Care towards the appeal.

Commenting on the appeal, Crock Harrison said “We were delighted to support the appeal. Dorothy House Hospice Care is well known in the area for the incredible end of life care it provides in our community. We have colleagues here who have family that have been cared for at the hospice and our people are very passionate about the hospice and the care it provides. A huge thanks to all our Champions and to all those that have supported this appeal”.
