This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and exciting business with an excellent reputation in their field.

Steve Vick International (SVI) is dedicated to delivering cost-saving solutions for damaged, redundant, or outdated underground pipework. Since its foundation in 1981, SVI has been at the forefront in developing products and techniques for the repair, renovation and decommissioning of pipes. Predominantly our work has been in the gas industry but increasingly we are undertaking projects in the water and nuclear sectors.

Working with SVI Site Supervisors and Project Managers, we are looking to appoint a Trainee Field Technician who will work in true partnership with our clients to deliver on-site services to those who require systems for the safe removal, remediation or inspection of water, nuclear and gas utility networks.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone to demonstrate their determination, adaptability and a positive approach to contribute to the overall success of our field technician team.

You will:

Provide technical, hands-on application and installation of SVI’s products and services throughout the UK gas, nuclear, and water pipeline networks.

With the guidance of Project Managers, you will attend site meetings and surveys prior to the commencement of operations.

Be responsible for planning and conducting onsite operations alongside the Field Technician Team and Project Manager.

Take control of managing company vehicle stock, together with the safe loading of equipment.

Maintain equipment functionality, cleanliness and security during operations.

Work safely with all site staff to ensure a safe working environment.

Ensure that any company owned motor vehicle is maintained in proper running order and is kept in the state and condition required by law.

Actively participate in industry training courses provided by SVI or industry specialists.

About you:

You will have previous hands-on practical experience of using tools and systems within a safety driven environment.

Most importantly you will be able to demonstrate a good level of initiative and ability to overcome local site problems.

You are safety focused and willing to follow safe working practices detailed during SVI training sessions.

You have good English skills both oral and written.

You will need to have a valid driver’s licence to undertake the role.

You must be willing and able to travel long distances and stay away from home to complete site projects that may span over several days.

You can commit to occasional weekend work which attracts double time.

What we can offer:

A competitive salary, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays with an incremental holiday package, workplace pension scheme with matched contributions up to 7.5%, income protection, life assurance, Employee Assistance Programme, cycle to work and tech schemes.
