About Us

Since the company was formed in 1981, Steve Vick International has developed a number of patented techniques for the trenchless repair and renovation of underground pipes. In 1984 the company was granted a license by British Gas to market live mains insertion techniques worldwide.

A major provider of products and services within the gas distribution industry in the UK, we also supply gas utilities in the rest of Europe, Scandinavia, the USA, South America and the Far East.

Although the company’s principle focus is on the gas industry, we are also active within the water, nuclear and civil engineering and industrial sectors.

One of the company’s great strengths, which has ensured its success over the last two decades, has been its ability to innovate and to transform development ideas into finished marketable products. We work in close collaboration with the UK gas distribution companies developing, testing and making available new or improved techniques.

An important part of our business is our Special Contract Service, providing customers with a ‘supply and execute’ service involving a wide range of specialist operations.

Complementing these activities, we design and manufacture pipe coil trailers and pipe pushing machines.

Steve Vick, Managing Director

Steve founded Steve Vick Ltd in 1981. A Chartered Engineer and honours graduate of Leeds University, he has an MSc in mechanical engineering from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. Steve began his career with Scottish Gas, part of the then state owned British Gas, where he was involved in the process of network conversion from town gas to natural gas, responsible for planning and operational procedures. Steve plays an active role in the UK gas industry being a member of the leading industry bodies and sitting on various committees.

Headquarters

The company’s headquarters are in the Georgian city of Bath in the South West of England. Here our staff is involved in making the fabric components used in our resin foam kits, assembling and packaging the kits and assembling pipe handling equipment. We have product development and testing areas, customer training facilities as well as teams dedicated to contract services, sales and customer care.
